Yes2Disc ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website yes2disc.org. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We keep it simple because we genuinely do not collect much.
What We Collect
When you sign the petition, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your country — optional, only if you select it from the dropdown
- A message of support — optional, only if you choose to write one
- The date and time of your submission
We do not automatically collect your IP address, precise location, or device information. The country and message fields are optional and are only recorded if you choose to fill them in yourself.
Why We Collect It
We collect this information solely to:
- Verify that each signature is unique (using your email)
- Count the total number of signatories accurately
- Show, in aggregate, how much support the cause has in different countries (using the optional country field)
- Understand and represent why supporters care (using the optional message)
- Contact you in the event of a major development related to the petition (rarely, if ever)
We will never sell, rent, trade, or share your information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.
Email Communications
By signing the petition you are not subscribing to a mailing list. We may send a single update email if the petition reaches a significant milestone or is formally delivered to Sony. You can opt out at any time by emailing us at hello@yes2disc.org.
Data Storage
Petition data is stored securely and is not accessible to the public. We take reasonable technical precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
Cookies & Local Storage
This website does not use cookies, tracking scripts, analytics, or any third-party advertising technology. We do store a single non-personal value — the most recent signature count — in your browser's local storage, so the counter can display instantly on repeat visits. It contains no personal information and is never transmitted anywhere. The only external request this page makes is to Google Fonts for typography.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request that your signature and data be deleted from our records
- Correct any inaccurate information

Third-Party Services
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process request metadata (such as IP addresses) as part of their infrastructure and security services. Please refer to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted their information, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
